Leaders will gather to discuss untapped Arab mining potential following recent report of the Arab region that estimates the value of its mineral reserves at US$ 1 trillion.
The opportunities for investment, exploration and production are rapidly developing across the region as a result the region’s new diversification plans.
The MENA region has in recent years suffered from a lack of mining and mineral investment and production, however, governments in the region are now rapidly implementing new mining laws to combat this.
The Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, H.E. Hala Zawati explained that Jordan’s mining sector is prime for rapid growth. The Kingdom is rich in valuable mineral resources, and is a global supplier of potash, phosphate & bromine, alongside industrial rocks.
The country’s new mining strategy is focusing on strategic minerals including gold, copper, zircon and rare earth elements, alongside traditional industrial minerals.
She said: “The mining industry is one of the largest strategic sectors in terms of capital, investment and stability of exports, around 20 percent of the national exports of Jordan is within the mineral resources field”.
The 4th international edition of the Arab Mining will take place ‘live’ from the 28th-29th September, 2021 at the Intercontinental Amman Hotel, Amman, Jordan.
Held in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry for Energy & Mineral Resources and in close collaboration with the Government of the Kingdom. Arab Mining is the only event of its kind showcasing the outstanding potential in mining, minerals and materials in the Middle East and North Africa.
